What to Expect at an Aerial Ropes Course

Instruction and Rules

It can feel overwhelming the first time you visit an aerial adventure course. There are many rules to follow. But don’t worry! There is always someone nearby to assist you if you need it. And to encourage you to have fun!

Safety

Before you start, you’ll be fitted for your harness and helmet (if required). You’ll watch a video or live presentation reviewing how to use the equipment.

Difficulty

Most of the below ropes courses near Philadelphia offer courses of varying difficulty. Talk to the guides before you start a trail to ensure you’re mentally and physically prepared.

Good to Know: Remember that once you start a course or level, you might not be able to leave until you’ve completed it.

Preparing For Your Visit to These Ropes Courses Near Philadelphia

Before you leave for your aerial adventure fun, make sure you are prepared. We recommend the following:

  • Wear closed-toe shoes that secure to your feet. Most places (if not all of them) will not allow sandals, even if they wrap around your ankles. You’ll be most comfortable in a sneaker-type shoe.
  • Avoid wearing loose clothing and short shorts. The harnesses wrap around your legs and groin area. Loose pants may cause bunching, which will be uncomfortable. And you’ll want fabric in between your skin and the harness
  • Bring thick gloves. Gardening gloves or work gloves would be best. Some places provide gloves, but others do not. You’ll want them to protect your hands.
  • Leave valuables in your car or locker. You can’t wear a backpack or purse on these courses. So it is best to leave your valuables somewhere secure or with an observer.
  • Bring a water bottle (and snacks if allowed).
