Byer’s Choice Christmas Museum Exhibits & Things to Do
There are several exhibits within the Byer’s Choice Christmas Museum.
St. James Theater
As you enter the building, turn right and walk down the Victorian-era style street. You’ll see the entrance to the theater, where you can watch a quick video about Joyce Byers, her creations, and the company’s legacy.
Coat & Hat Shop
Along the street, you’ll encounter store windows and a beautiful home decorated for the holidays. There is also a “hat and coat” shop where you can dress up like the carolers. Try on a top hat and cloak and snap a selfie before you continue on.
The Carolers
The main part of the museum showcases the famous Carolers in several winter and Christmas scenes. You’ll find kids ice skating, a horse-drawn carriage, and a Christmas market.
There are also windows depicting scenes from “A Christmas Carol” and also showing off Christmas traditions from around the globe.
Our favorite room is the North Pole, with large gingerbread homes and elves flying on hot air balloons.
World Nativities
The Creche Collection Room showcases nativity scenes made all over the world. With materials like wood, wool, clay, and metal, you’ll enjoy the various depictions of Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus.
Formal Gardens
The formal gardens are worth exploring no matter the time of year. The large, ornate metal gates and statues are just as gorgeous in mid-winter as they are in spring.
Gift Shop
Before you leave Byer’s Choice, take the time to enjoy the gift shop. It feels like an extension of the museum, and you can purchase one of the classic Carolers for yourself.
