Camelback Resort is a top family-friendly resort in the Poconos and one of the best indoor waterpark hotels in the area.
However, sometimes your schedule doesn’t allow you to stay overnight.
Thankfully, Camelback started offering day passes to its indoor waterpark, Aquatopia.
We did a day trip to Aquatopia on a Saturday in January and had a great time! Although it would have been fun to stay over and enjoy everything to hotel has to offer, we still had a great time.
The guide below shares everything you need to know about visiting Aquatopia indoor waterpark for the day, including where to check in and what to bring. Let’s dive in!

Where is Camelback Resort?
As one of the most popular family-friendly resorts in the Poconos, Camelback is about two hours from Philadelphia and New York City. Visting Aquatopia for the day is also a fun thing to do if you’re visiting the Poconos but don’t want to stay overnight.
Camelback has several locations on its property, but the address to the resort and waterpark is 193 Resort Drive in Tannersville, PA.
Cost to Visit Camelback’s Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark For the Day
Day Pass Tickets to Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark
The cost of an Aquatopia day pass varies depending on the day, how far in advance you purchase the day pass, and the demand for the day passes.
Prices can vary from $69-$99 (and up) per person. Typically you can save money by purchasing a 4 Fun-Pack, which can range from $199 to $400 (and up). 4 Fun-Pack passes are good for four people to visit on the same day.
If you know when you want to visit, we recommend purchasing your Aquatopia day passes ahead of time. Ticket prices can really jump up in price the closer you get to the day you want to visit.
Reserved Seating and Cabanas
Aquatopia indoor waterpark offers reserved VIP seating and cabanas for everyone, including day pass visitors. Like the day passes, prices can vary depending on the day and how close to the visit date you reserve your seating.
Reserved VIP seating options include two or four lounge chairs in a roped-off section next to the wave pool. The VIP seating includes personal beverages and food service.
Reserved cabana options include cabanas for up to 8 or 12 people. Both cabanas have a mini-fridge with water, a fruit basket, a TV, lounge chairs, and table seating.
What You Should Bring For a Day Pass Visit to Aquatopia Waterpark
When you visit Aquatopia for the day, you don’t need to pack for an overnight at an indoor waterpark hotel. But you do need to bring the right stuff! The following items should make your visit go smoothly:
- Swimsuit: Either wear it to the park or pack it in your bag and change when you get there
- Swim diapers: Swim diapers are required for children who aren’t potty-trained.
- Sandals: You don’t have to wear sandals around the park unless you want to. However, you’ll want to wear them in bathrooms and showers.
- Cover-up: Even though they keep the waterpark at an advertised 84°, you’ll want something to throw on while using the bathrooms (they were colder than the park) and while you eat or take a break in the arcade.
- Change of clothes: If the clothes you wear to the park get wet, you’ll have a backup for the ride home.
- Towels: They provide towels at the park but they are very small! You might want your own beach towel to dry off with instead.
- Wet bag: A wet bag or a plastic bag will keep your damp swimsuit separate from other dry items.
- Water bottle and snacks: Camelback’s official policy states no outside food or drinks, but we brought snacks and water bottles, and no one said a word to us when they checked our bags. Don’t push it with a cooler, though!
- Toiletries: If you want to shower before you leave, bring shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and something to wash with. They provide soap in the shower, but you might as well bring your own!
- Waterproof phone/money holder: A waterproof pouch is nice to have in case you want to take videos and photos, or if you’re nervous about leaving your belongings unattended (they also have lockers).
- Floatation vest: You don’t need to pack your child a floatation vest, as they are everywhere in the park. However, if you own one that you know fits your child perfectly, you can bring it.
Parking at Camelback Resort For the Day
You have two parking options when visiting Aquatopia indoor waterpark for the day.
Self-parking is available for a $12 flat rate. There are pay stations in the lot. The information on their website is vague, but the designated parking lot for Aquatopia day pass guests is lot D13, which isn’t even marked on the map! However, after visiting, we learned it is a small lot to the left of the lodge (circled in yellow below).
Valet parking is also an option when you visit Camelback for the day. Valet parking is $20 for up to 12 hours. We found the extra $8 worth spending so we didn’t have to walk in the cold, and we could leave our heavy winter coats in the car instead of bringing them into the waterpark.
Checking In For a Day Pass to Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark
There is no information on their website about where to check in for a day pass to Aquatopia. And when you arrive at the resort, there are no signs or any information.
We learned that there is no designated day pass check-in area. You have to check in at the front desk as if you were staying overnight at the resort.
It might take extra time to check in for your day pass if the guests in front of you are checking into the resort. However, once you present your pass, you’ll have your wristbands in less than five minutes!
Rides & Activities at Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark
There is plenty to do for all ages when you spend a day at Aquatopia waterpark.
Tube & Mat Slides
There are several tube and mat slides at Aquatopia waterpark. The Venus Slyde Trap (a fun family ride) and the Mountain Mayhem (you can choose a different theme each time you ride) were favorites.
Body Slides
From slides for the littlest visitors to free-fall slides, the body slides at Aquatopia are fast and fun. Daring guests will love the Skydive Plummet, while some of the smaller guests will love the slides at Kartrite’s Quest.
Other Water Fun
A lazy river, a wave pool, and an indoor/outdoor hot tub are just some of the other water fun at Aquatopia. And don’t forget the crowd favorite, the Flowrider.
Food Options at Camelback’s Aquatopia
Camelback’s official rules state no outside food is allowed at Aquatopia. However, we packed water bottles and small snacks, and no one said anything. You might be able to bring in some sandwiches or other small lunch options without any difficulties.
If you would like to purchase food while visiting Aquatopia for the day, there are two food stands close to the waterpark.
The first is the food stand inside the waterpark; Burgers & More. They have a small selection of burgers, chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, and salads. The food was okay and expensive, but that was expected. Immediately outside of the waterpark is Graffiti Pizza. They have various pizza options as well as build-your-own grinders.
If any adults in your group want to imbibe during their day at Aquatopia, the Oasis is a swim-up bar just for the 21 and over crowd in the waterpark.
Showers and Changing Rooms at Camelback’s Aquatopia
It’s easy to visit Aquatopia indoor waterpark for the day without having to stay over at Camelback, thanks to the showers and changing rooms. The showers are large with a small changing area inside. They provide soap, but if you want to wash your hair, you’ll need your own shampoo, washcloth, or loofah.
There are also separate changing rooms if you want to wait until you get home to get cleaned up. Both the showers and changing rooms are closest to the food stand and swim-up bar.
Tips & Things to Know for a Day Pass Visit Aquatopia
- Get there early! We arrived right before the park opened and could ride everything with little to no wait before lunch. After lunch, it was more crowded, and some rides had long waits.
- There are plenty of tables and chairs. There is no shortage of seating at Aquatopia. Seats next to the wave pool get grabbed up quickly, but there are tables and chairs and seats throughout the park.
- Flotation vests are required on some rides for kids under 48″ tall. You can use your own or one of the many available in the waterpark.
- Towels are provided to visitors at the park. However, they are the typical small pool towels you get at many hotels. Consider bringing your own big towel to dry off and stay warm.
- Lockers are available to rent for a fee. They won’t hold large items, so you’ll have to keep them with you or in your car.
- Bring your credit or debit card. Camelback resort has gone cashless.
Our Review of Visiting Camelback’s Aquatopia Waterpark For the Day
This was our second visit to Camelback Resort, but our first visit during the day. While we enjoyed staying overnight on our first visit, it was equally fun getting a day pass and sleeping in our beds.
Of course, there is much more to do at Camelback than just Aquatopia indoor waterpark, so that an overnight might be the right choice for you and your family.
However, if you want to have a fun day out with the kids without the commitment of staying overnight, a day pass to Aquatopia is worth it!
